Serving the Gallatin Valley

Lawn Care in Belgrade, MT

Belgrade sits out on the open valley floor, not tucked against the foothills. More wind, different frost, and soil that changes lot to lot. We are based here — the trucks start and end in Belgrade every day.

We Are Not a Bozeman Company That Added Belgrade to the Map

Mow Bros has been running three years, and Belgrade has been on the route every one of them. This town was not a service area we added once Bozeman filled up — both sides of the valley were on the schedule from the first season.

Belgrade is on the open valley floor. That is not a small distinction. Out here you get more wind, and the flat ground holds cold air and frost differently than neighborhoods pressed up against the mountains — a lawn on this side of the valley can be sitting under frost while a Bozeman yard eight miles away is already growing.

Soil is the other split. Plenty of Belgrade lots run the heavier clay common to the valley floor. Plenty of others — especially the newer builds — sit on fill, which drains and grows nothing like an established lawn does. Same town, two completely different watering problems, and treating them the same is how you end up with a patchy yard and a bill for it.

Mow Bros is based in Belgrade. The trucks start and end here every day, which is why a callback here is a short drive rather than a scheduling event. Across Bozeman and Belgrade combined we look after around 200 client properties, and Google has us at 5.0 stars from 83 reviews. Owner Austin Anderson stays personally involved in how jobs get quoted, scheduled, and handled when something needs fixing.

FAQ

Belgrade Lawn Care — Frequently Asked Questions

Twelve questions we get most often from Belgrade homeowners.

How much does weekly mowing cost for a Belgrade home?

Weekly mowing is priced per season, and the number comes off a look at the actual property — the size of the lawn, how much trimming the fence lines and walkways add, and how the ground drains. Belgrade lots vary too much for a square-footage table to be honest, so we quote the yard in front of us.

Do I have to commit to the whole season?

Weekly mowing is set up as a season plan, because a fixed route is what keeps your day predictable and ours efficient. What the season covers and what it costs is written into the quote before you agree to anything, and nothing gets added to a Belgrade property mid-summer without you hearing about it first.

What day of the week will you mow, and will it move around?

Every Belgrade property gets a fixed weekday on the route and keeps it. Our trucks are based in Belgrade, so reaching your street is a short drive rather than the last leg of a route that started across the valley. If a storm pushes a day, we pick the property back up rather than writing off the week.

The wind out here scatters everything. How do you keep clippings off my drive?

Belgrade sits open on the valley floor with very little between it and the wind, so blow-off is part of every visit rather than an afterthought. Drives, walks and patios get cleared before we leave, and cleanup debris goes into the truck instead of sitting in bags at the curb waiting to be redistributed across your yard.

Why does my Belgrade lawn green up later than my friend’s place in Bozeman?

Flat ground holds cold air. Belgrade lawns sit in frost pockets that can stay locked up in the morning while a yard tucked against the Bozeman foothills is already growing. That is why we schedule the first cut of the year off what your lawn is actually doing, not off a date on a calendar.

We just built out here and the lawn looks thin. Is that normal in Belgrade?

Very. A lot of the newer builds around Belgrade sit on fill rather than settled topsoil, and fill drains fast and holds almost nothing, so a first-season lawn comes in thin and patchy. An established lot on the heavier valley-floor clay behaves the opposite way and holds water far longer. We read which one you have before we set a cutting height, because treating a fill-soil lawn like an old one is how it gets scalped.

What happens to my lawn during a dry Belgrade August?

Open ground and steady wind pull moisture out faster than a sheltered yard loses it, so we raise the cutting height and let the grass shade its own roots. If a lawn out here has genuinely stopped growing, we will say so and back off the frequency rather than keep running a mower over dormant turf.

Who actually shows up at my house each week?

The same crew, week to week, working out of Belgrade. Mow Bros has been in business three years and Belgrade has been on the route from the first season — this was never a town we expanded into later. Owner Austin Anderson is still personally involved in quoting properties and in sorting out anything that goes wrong.

Do you work on regular homes, or only large properties?

Homes. Everything on this page is residential work — your lawn, your beds and your driveway in January. Across Bozeman and Belgrade combined we look after around 200 client properties, so a standard Belgrade yard is exactly the size of job we run all day.

Besides mowing, what else can you do at my Belgrade property?

Three things: spring and fall yard cleanups, bed maintenance and mulching on the beds you already have, and snow removal through the winter. One crew handles all of it on one schedule. We do not take on landscape installation work — no sod, plantings, hardscape or rock projects.

Do you clear snow in Belgrade, or only mow here in summer?

Snow removal runs all winter on the same Belgrade properties we mow. Being based in town counts for more in January than it does in July — when a storm comes through overnight, getting to your driveway is a short drive from the shop rather than a decision about whether the trip across the valley is worth making.

How do I get started with Mow Bros in Belgrade?

Send a job request through the quote form or call (406) 595-0986. We walk the property, put the season’s pricing in writing, and give you a start date before any work begins. If you would rather read what other people in the valley say first, Mow Bros is rated 5.0 on Google from 83 reviews.
